iLs© is a multi-sensory program for improving brain function that combines music delivered through headphones and therapeutic activities. iLs© programs can improve emotional regulation while training the brain to process sensory information. With improved regulation and processing, our ability to focus, think, and engage successfully in social situations also improves. From a sensory standpoint, when we use interventions through the ears we not only get auditory organization but vestibular (movement, balance, sense of space). With this program we address the following:
Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP): Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, the SSP is a five-day auditory intervention designed to reduce stress and auditory sensitivity while enhancing social engagement and resilience. Based on Dr. Porges’ Polyvagal Theory, by calming the physiological and emotional state, the door is opened for improved communication and more successful therapy.

The Dreampad is a therapeutic pillow that helps reduce stress and induce sleep. It delivers music through gentle vibration and is only heard by the user. The Dreampad is supported by research which suggests that the bone-conducted music is activating the body’s relaxation response (parasympathetic nervous system). This therapeutic modality can assist with:
Healing Hearts assessment process is used to obtain information to ensure accurate treatment recommendations. Our assessments are made up of 3 appointments for clients under 18 and 2 appointments for adult clients. An assessment is required to access any service or therapy at Healing Hearts Family Counseling Center.
