Intake/ Assessment
Healing Hearts assessment process is used to obtain information to ensure accurate treatment recommendations. Our assessments are made up of 3 appointments for clients under the age of 18 and 2 appointments for adult clients. An assessment is required to access any service or therapy at Healing Hearts Family Counseling Center. After completing an assessment, weekly or bi-weekly appointments are recommended. Appointments after school and work are limited. Flexibility with appointment times during scheduling is needed.
Children and Teen Assessments
During the first assessment appointment, the therapist will meet with the parents/guardians to obtain background information and history of the child. The child does not come to the clinic for this appointment. During the second assessment appointment, the therapist will meet with the child to complete the testing. In the third assessment appointment the therapist will meet with parents/guardians without the child to review recommendations for services and therapy. Additional assessments can be used if needed, which may require an additional appointment for testing.
Adult Assessments
The therapist will meet with the prospective client for one assessment appointment. The therapist will review the assessment and treatment plans during the second appointment. Additional assessments can be used if needed, which may require an additional appointment for testing.
Referrals to other treatment at Healing Hearts
Therapists may recommend other treatment options at Healing Hearts. If a client is referred for another form of treatment, the new provider will have an initial meeting to discuss the service, therapy, and answer questions prior to treatment.
